Gambian international Muhammed Badamosi continued to impress on the European stage after providing an assist as Riga FC defeated FC Ararat-Armenia 3-2 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round on Tuesday.
Despite the victory, the Latvian champions were eliminated from the competition after failing to overturn their first-leg deficit on aggregate.
Badamosi started the match and played the full 90 minutes, making a significant contribution to Riga FC’s attacking efforts. The Gambian forward set up the opening goal with a well-timed assist, giving his side an early advantage and raising hopes of a possible comeback.
Riga FC produced an energetic display in front of their home supporters, scoring three times in an entertaining encounter. However, their efforts were not enough to advance to the next round as the overall scoreline favoured Ararat-Armenia.
For Badamosi, the performance further highlighted his growing importance at the Latvian club. The striker has been among Riga FC’s leading performers during the 2026 Virslīga season, contributing with goals, assists and consistent attacking displays.
His latest assist adds to an impressive campaign and reinforces his reputation as one of the club’s key attacking players, with his physical strength, work rate and ability to create chances proving valuable in both domestic and European competitions.
