Gambian forward Baboucarr Touray scored as Manila Digger FC defeated Dynamic Herb Cebu FC 2-0 in a convincing performance.
Manila Digger took control early and opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Dilane Wamba Tafem’s effort took a deflection before finding the net.
Touray doubled the advantage eight minutes before half-time, finishing a move created by Kenneth Pryde to give Manila Digger a two-goal lead at the break.
Dynamic Herb Cebu responded with greater attacking intent after the restart and forced five shots on target, but Manila Digger’s defence remained organised to preserve its clean sheet.
Manila Digger continued to create the better chances, registering 16 shots and enjoying 61 per cent possession as they maintained control of the match.
Touray’s performance earned him the Man of the Match award after his goal helped secure all three points for Manila Digger.
