Gambian international forward Alieu Cham scored for İstanbulspor in their 3-2 defeat to Vanspor FK in the Trendyol 1. Lig, Turkey’s second-tier league, on Sunday.
Cham started on the left side of the attack and threatened the Vanspor defence early in the match, going close to scoring around the 20th minute.
The Gambian international found the net in the 31st minute to double İstanbulspor’s advantage and put his side 2-0 ahead.
Cham continued to pose a creative threat, producing several key passes and creating opportunities for his teammates.
However, he was booked shortly before half-time after receiving a yellow card.
Despite İstanbulspor making several substitutions during the match, Cham remained on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.
His goal and overall contribution, however, were not enough to prevent İstanbulspor from surrendering their lead and suffering a 3-2 defeat to Vanspor FK.
