Gambian striker Zakaria Sawo marked his debut for Qarabağ FK with a hat-trick as the Azerbaijani champions defeated Austrian side WSG Tirol 4-0 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The 26-year-old forward, who recently joined Qarabağ, scored three goals in an impressive display during the club’s pre-season training camp in Austria to help his side secure a comfortable victory.
Camilo Duran added the fourth goal as Qarabağ completed the convincing win.
The victory followed Qarabağ’s 4-3 pre-season win over fellow Azerbaijani Premier League side Zira, as the club continues preparations for the new season.
Sawo’s performance is expected to boost his prospects ahead of Qarabağ’s domestic campaign and their UEFA Champions League qualifying fixtures.
