Future Bi have been crowned champions of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s Second Division League after defeating already-relegated Mansa Wally 10-0 on the final day of the season to finish ahead of Kintehs on goal difference.

The title was confirmed following the final round of league matches, with Future Bi and Kintehs ending the campaign level on points. Future Bi secured the championship by virtue of a superior goal difference.

Ana Bojang scored a hat-trick in the decisive victory over Mansa Wally, while Sainabou Jobe, Maimuna Dukureh and Fatoumatta Manneh each netted twice. Ausai Sanneh added the other goal.

During the trophy presentation ceremony at the Box Bar Mini Stadium, GFF Fourth Vice-President Ajaratou Sainabou Cham presented the league trophy, gold medals and a winners’ cheque of D300,000 to the champions.

Kintehs concluded the season with a 4-0 victory over Darboes FC, with Ortames Manneh scoring twice and Awa Mendy and Marie Senghore each adding a goal. The runners-up received D150,000.

Prisons FC finished third after defeating Gambia Armed Forces 1-0 at the Ousman Saho Football Field. Isatou Camara scored the only goal of the match in the first half, earning her side a prize of D100,000.

Elsewhere, Lower Niumi retained their place in the Women’s Second Division with a 3-1 win over Jeshwang United.

Rakie FC were relegated alongside Mansa Wally after a 1-1 draw against Sallahs FC left them short of the points needed to avoid the drop.
