The High Court in Banjul, presided over by Justice Sidi K. Jobarteh, on Wednesday adjourned the alleged murder case involving Momodou Jallow pending the submission of the Bill of Indictment.

The State was represented by Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions E.R. Durgan, while the accused appeared without legal representation.

When the case was called, Justice Jobarteh informed the court that she had not yet received the Bill of Indictment from the prosecution.

In response, Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Durgan told the court that the Bill of Indictment had already been filed at the Central Registry.

Meanwhile, students of the University of The Gambia and family members of the deceased were present in court and within the court premises to show solidarity with the late Yunusa Mbye, who was allegedly stabbed to death in Fajara.

Momodou Jallow stands accused in connection with the incident.

Following the brief proceedings, the matter was adjourned to 2nd July 2026.
