Bakau Komani FC secured a place in the 2025/26 Kanifing Municipal Regional Football Association (KMRFA) Third Division League final after defeating Superstars Academy FC 5-4 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in their semi-final encounter at Manjai Park.
Bakau Komani FC came from behind to book their place in the final, marking their second appearance in the competition’s showpiece match in the last three seasons.
Superstars Academy FC took the lead in the 72nd minute through Modou Lamin Bissidy and appeared on course for victory before Bakau Komani FC mounted a late comeback.
Their persistence paid off in the 87th minute when Saidou Jammeh scored the equaliser to level the match at 1-1 and force a penalty shootout.
Bakau Komani FC held their nerve from the spot, converting five penalties to edge their opponents 5-4 and advance to the final.
They will face ASM Athletic FC, who also progressed via a penalty shootout after defeating BK West United 5-4 following a goalless draw in regulation time at Manjai Park.
The final will see Bakau Komani FC and ASM Athletic FC compete for the 2025/26 KMRFA Third Division League title.
