Essau United were crowned champions of the Western Zone after defeating Jokadou United 1-0 in the final played in Essau, securing a place in the North Bank Region Football Association (NBRFA) Third Division Regional Final.
The closely contested encounter remained goalless for much of the match as both sides displayed defensive discipline and tactical organisation.
Essau United eventually broke the deadlock in the 70th minute through Sheikh Njie, who finished from close range after being set up by Ba Nuha Sonko.
Sonko created the goal following an impressive run past two defenders before delivering a precise pass to Njie, whose strike proved decisive.
Jokadou United responded with increased attacking pressure in search of an equaliser, but Essau United maintained their defensive shape and held on to their advantage until the final whistle.
The victory secured the Western Zone championship for Essau United and booked their place in the NBRFA Third Division Regional Final.
Essau United will face Blacka FA in the regional final after Blacka FA defeated Walimang FC 3-1 in the first semi-final played on Saturday.
