Africmed International Hospital on Wednesday donated an ambulance to the Gambia Police Force (GPF) during a handing-over ceremony held at the hospital premises in Brusubi Turntable.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) for the Service Support Unit, Kalilu Njie, the Commissioner of Medical Services, Dr Secka, and the proprietor of Africmed International Hospital, Dr Omar Jagne.
Speaking at the event, AIG Njie expressed gratitude to Dr Jagne and Africmed International Hospital on behalf of the Inspector General of Police and the GPF.
He described the donation as timely, noting that it would enhance the Police Force’s capacity to respond to medical emergencies involving officers and members of the public.
Njie also highlighted the importance of cooperation between private institutions and security agencies in promoting public welfare.
He reaffirmed the Police Force’s commitment to improving the welfare of its personnel and thanked Africmed International Hospital for its continued support to national development.
For his part, Dr Jagne said the donation formed part of the hospital’s corporate social responsibility and commitment to supporting national institutions.
He said the Gambia Police Force plays a crucial role in maintaining peace and security, which he described as essential for national development.
Dr Jagne added that Africmed International Hospital remained committed to continued collaboration with the Police Force and other national institutions.
The donation is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the private sector and the Gambia Police Force in service delivery and emergency response.
