BK West United FC secured a place in the semi-finals of the Kanifing Municipal Regional Football Association (KMRFA) Third Division League 2025/26 Play-Offs after defeating Bakau United FC 3-1 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the Manjai Park Mini Stadium.
Bakau United FC made a strong start to the match and took the lead in the 22nd minute through defender Modou Lamin Jallow, who gave his side a first-half advantage.
BK West United FC responded after the break and restored parity in the 60th minute when Mustapha Camara found the back of the net to level the scores.
Despite several chances created by both teams, neither side was able to score the decisive goal during normal time, sending the contest to a penalty shootout.
BK West United FC proved more composed from the spot, converting their penalties while restricting Bakau United FC to a single successful effort to claim a 3-1 shootout victory.
The win keeps BK West United FC’s promotion ambitions alive and sets up a semi-final encounter against ASM Athletic FC, with a place in the final and a step closer to promotion at stake.
