Gambia Football Federation (GFF) President Lamin Kabba Bajo and General Secretary Lamin M. Jassey are participating in the FIFA Executive Summit bringing together representatives of FIFA’s 211 Member Associations in Miami.

The summit, held alongside activities related to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is focusing on the future development of global football and strategies to strengthen the game worldwide.

Addressing delegates, FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced a 20 percent increase in FIFA Forward 4.0 funding for the 2027-2030 cycle and outlined plans aimed at expanding football development across member associations.

Youth football development featured prominently during the summit, with FIFA Chief of Global Football Development Arsène Wenger and FIFA Chief Football Officer Jill Ellis presenting initiatives designed to expand the FIFA Academy, the Talent Development Scheme and the FIFA Series.

The programmes are intended to create more opportunities for young players and strengthen football development pathways across the world.

Delegates also received updates on FIFA’s partnership with DAZN, which is expected to serve as the global home of FIFA+, while NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum shared perspectives on sports growth, innovation and commercial development.

The summit continues on Monday, with the Gambian delegation expected to participate in further discussions on funding, technical development and football governance.
