The Gambia Police Force (GPF) has confirmed the death of a 23-year-old man following an alleged assault in Brikama Bojang Kunda, in the West Coast Region.
According to the police, the incident was reported on 10 June 2026 at the Suba Ward Charge Office by Sanna Sabally, who alleged that his son, Musa Sabally, was attacked by a group of young men.
Police said the victim was taken to Brikama Health Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Following the report, officers arrested one suspect, Ebrima Kanteh, 18, of Brikama Mansaring Su.
The suspect allegedly named three others said to have been involved in the assault. The individuals identified as Mr. Bojang, Sheriffo and Modou Lamin Drammeh are currently at large, according to the police.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital Mortuary for examination as investigations continue.
The GPF said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
