One Abdoulie Jobe was on Wednesday arraigned before the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court on charges of criminal trespass, threatening violence, and common assault.
The case was presided over by Magistrate F.J. Camara.
Inspector C.B. Jallow appeared for the Inspector General of Police, while the accused was not represented by legal counsel.
Inspector Jallow informed the court that the accused faced three counts: criminal trespass contrary to section 262 of the Criminal Offences Act 2025, threatening violence under section 77, and common assault under section 195.
According to the particulars of offence, Jobe allegedly, on June 8, 2026, at Pipeline in the Kanifing Municipality, unlawfully entered the home of Isatou Secka with intent to intimidate her, including pulling at her property.
On the second count, the prosecution alleged that Jobe threatened Isatou Secka with a cutlass at her residence on the same date.
On the third count, he was further accused of assaulting the complainant by pulling her hair.
The accused, who was read the charges in a local language and confirmed understanding, pleaded not guilty. A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.
Prosecution requested an adjournment to secure its first witness and informed the court that it did not oppose bail, noting that the offences were bailable.
Magistrate F.J. Camara granted the accused bail in the sum of D50,000, with one Gambian surety who must be a responsible adult above 30 years of age. The surety is required to deposit a valid national identity card with the court registrar and guarantee the accused’s appearance in court.
The court warned that failure to appear would render the surety responsible. The matter was adjourned to June 15, 2026, for continuation of hearing.
