Bakau Komani FC, New Town XI FC Reach KMRFA 3rd Division Semi-Finals

Bakau Komani FC and New Town XI FC have secured places in the semi-finals of the 2025/26 KMRFA 3rd Division League Play-Offs following victories in their respective quarter-final matches played on Tuesday.

The opening round of the play-offs produced exciting contests at the Bakau and Manjai Mini Stadiums as teams battled for progression in the competition.

At the Bakau Mini Stadium, Bakau Komani FC defeated LC Rising Stars FC 2-1 to advance to the last four.

Kekuta Camara opened the scoring for Bakau Komani before Babucarr Sonko doubled the advantage to put his side in control of the match.

LC Rising Stars FC responded through Pa Malick Mboob, who reduced the deficit and set up a tense finish. However, Bakau Komani held firm defensively to preserve their lead and secure qualification for the semi-finals.

In the other quarter-final match played at the Manjai Mini Stadium, New Town XI FC overcame Bundung Stars FC 4-3 on penalties after the teams played out a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Musa O. Touray gave New Town XI the lead before Muhammed Njie equalised for Bundung Stars to force the contest into a penalty shootout.

The shootout remained closely contested, but New Town XI FC converted four spot-kicks to Bundung Stars’ three to book their place in the semi-finals.

The results mean Bakau Komani FC and New Town XI FC remain in contention for honours in this season’s KMRFA 3rd Division League Play-Offs, while LC Rising Stars FC and Bundung Stars FC exit the competition despite spirited performances.
