Berewuleng have strengthened their position at the top of the GFF Women’s First Division League after a 2-1 victory over Police in Week 15 fixtures played on Monday, while TMT kept the pressure on with a 2-0 win over Fortune Female FC.
Fresh from representing The Gambia at the WAFU-A U-20 Women’s Tournament in Bissau, Sarah Jarju made a decisive impact on her return, scoring twice to guide Berewuleng past Police at the Live Your Dreams Academy Field in Basori.
Police reduced the deficit through fellow Gambia U-20 player Nyima Sanneh, but Berewuleng held on to secure all three points.
At the Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum, TMT maintained their title challenge with a solid 2-0 win over Fortune Female FC.
An own goal by Meriam Mendes gave TMT the lead before Nyima Sabally sealed victory with a late free-kick.
Elsewhere, Red Scorpion dropped points after a goalless draw with Koita at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama, a result that weakened their title push.
Brikama United and Yakarr also shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw at the Nyimina Football Field in Gunjur.
After Week 15, Berewuleng lead the table with 37 points, six ahead of second-placed TMT on 31 points, while Red Scorpion sit third with 29 points as the title race intensifies.
