The Vision Development Foundation (VDF), through its Chief Executive Officer Momodou Turo Darboe, has distributed more than 200 rams to vulnerable families across the country during the Tobaski celebrations.

Darboe said the initiative is part of the foundation’s long-standing charitable work aimed at supporting underprivileged households during major religious festivities.

He urged beneficiaries to continue praying for the foundation and its activities, noting that the gesture has been ongoing for several years.

Darboe also acknowledged the rising cost of rams this year, attributing the increase to regional economic pressures, including conflict-related disruptions in neighbouring Mali and currency fluctuations affecting trade.

He said the rising prices have made it increasingly difficult for vulnerable families to afford rams for Tobaski, stressing the importance of continued support to those in need.

Among the beneficiaries, Fatou Saho expressed gratitude for the donation, describing it as a timely intervention for struggling families during the celebration.

She also dismissed claims circulating on social media suggesting the initiative was politically motivated, insisting that the foundation’s work is focused on humanitarian support.

Another beneficiary, Lamin Tombong Jarju, also thanked the foundation, praising its continued assistance to vulnerable communities and praying for its sustained efforts.

The Vision Development Foundation has for years been engaged in social support programmes, including food distribution during Ramadan and other religious occasions.
