Gambian defender Alagie Saine and AC Horsens have secured promotion to the Danish Superliga following a 1-0 victory over Kolding IF in their final league match of the season on Sunday.
The result confirmed AC Horsens’ return to Denmark’s top flight after finishing second in the league with 54 points, six behind champions Odense Boldklub, who topped the standings with 60 points.
Saine came on as a second-half substitute in the decisive match, marking his 25th league appearance of the season. He accumulated 1,322 minutes across the campaign, averaging just over 53 minutes per game.
The former Gambian youth international played an important role in Horsens’ promotion push, contributing two goals and one assist, while the team recorded 15 clean sheets during the season.
The promotion represents a major milestone in Saine’s career, as he prepares to compete in the Danish Superliga next season with AC Horsens among Denmark’s elite clubs.
