Gambian middle-distance runner Sanu Jallow has made NCAA history after delivering a record-breaking performance in the women’s 800 metres, clocking 1:57.74 to post the second-fastest time ever recorded in the competition.
Competing for the University of Arkansas, Jallow produced a dominant display of speed and endurance to secure the milestone result, further establishing herself among the NCAA’s all-time elite performers in the event.
The achievement marks a significant moment for Gambian athletics, with Jallow strengthening her status as one of the country’s most successful track and field athletes on the international stage. Her performance reflects years of preparation, discipline and steady progression at elite level.
