Heroes FC have retained their place in the West Coast Region Third Division League following a 1-1 draw away to Berewuleng FC in a decisive final-day encounter.

The result ensured Heroes FC’s survival in the division, while confirming the relegation of Berewuleng FC and guaranteeing Marakissa another season in the league.

Both teams entered the match under pressure, with Berewuleng FC needing victory to keep their survival hopes alive, while Heroes FC required at least a draw to avoid relegation.

Berewuleng FC, playing at home, pushed for the win but were held by a determined Heroes FC side that managed to secure the crucial point needed to stay up.

The draw proved decisive across the standings, sealing Heroes FC’s safety and mathematically confirming Berewuleng FC’s relegation.

Heroes FC’s late-season turnaround has been attributed in part to the arrival of Coach Dawda Camara, who steadied the team after a difficult run of results earlier in the campaign.

Under his guidance, Heroes FC recorded improved performances, including consecutive victories in his first two matches in charge without conceding a goal.

Team captain Fallou Badjie played a key role during the turnaround, scoring in both of those wins and helping the team regain confidence at a critical stage of the season.

For Berewuleng FC, the result brings a disappointing end to their campaign despite a determined effort to avoid the drop.

They will now compete in a lower division next season following their relegation.
