SK Jaiteh and Sons Enterprise has donated medicines valued at D50,000 to the Fatoto Health Centre to help address shortages of essential medical supplies.

The donation was formally presented on Saturday at the company’s head office in Banjul.

Speaking during the presentation, the Chief Executive Officer of SK Jaiteh and Sons Enterprise, Salifu K. Jaiteh, said the gesture was motivated by humanitarian concern and a desire to support patients in need of medical care.

He said he took action after learning that the health facility was facing challenges with access to specific medications.

“When I came across this news, I felt empathy. I contacted the CEO of the Fatoto Health Centre through officials from the Ministry of Health to express my intention to support the facility,” he said.

Jaiteh noted that he has been involved in similar charitable interventions since the 1980s, adding that the latest donation was tailored to the specific needs of the health centre.

He said the medicines were purchased based on a list provided by the facility to ensure relevance and effectiveness.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Fatoto Health Centre, Modou Wadda expressed gratitude, saying the support would significantly improve service delivery to patients.

“We are very happy to receive this kind gesture. This medication will go a long way in supporting our patients,” he said.

He notes that shortages of medicines often create frustration among patients, especially after undergoing laboratory tests without receiving prescribed treatment.

Wadda added that the donation would help improve healthcare delivery and patient satisfaction at the facility.

He also called on other individuals and organizations to emulate SK Jaiteh and Sons Enterprise in supporting health institutions across the country.
