Week 18 fixtures of the 2025/26 GFF Women’s Second Division League produced a series of closely contested matches on Saturday, with Kintehs FC, Lower Niumi and City Girls FC all recording important victories as the race for league positions intensifies.
In Soma, Jung Mama and Rakie FC shared the spoils after a goalless draw in a tightly contested encounter. Both sides created chances but were unable to convert, as strong defensive organisation ensured the match ended without goals.
In Brikama, Kintehs FC staged a comeback to defeat Gambia Armed Forces (GAF FC) 2–1. GAF took the lead in the 15th minute through Awa Mendy, but Kintehs FC responded in first-half stoppage time when Marie Gomez equalised in the 45+5 minute.
Kintehs FC carried their momentum into the second half and completed the turnaround to secure all three points, strengthening their position in the standings.
In Brusubi, City Girls FC earned a narrow 1–0 win over Darboes FC. The decisive moment came in the 9th minute when Ramatoulie Gibba converted from the penalty spot.
Despite pressure from Darboes FC, City Girls FC maintained defensive discipline to preserve their lead until full-time.
Elsewhere in Kabekel, Lower Niumi defeated Future Bi 2–1 in another competitive fixture. Future Bi went ahead in the 42nd minute through Ausai Sanneh, but Lower Niumi responded strongly to overturn the deficit and claim victory.
The results underline the growing competitiveness of the league as teams continue to battle for crucial points in the closing stages of the season.
