Gambian youngster Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh is reportedly close to securing a move to German Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln after agreeing personal terms with the club.
The 19-year-old midfielder has also attracted interest from other clubs in Europe and the Middle East, with Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli said to be the only club to have made concrete approaches alongside Köln.
Kinteh’s agent, Cherno Samba, dismissed reports linking the player with several other clubs, describing the claims as “false”, while indicating that Köln remain favourites to secure the player’s signature.
The Gambian international enjoyed an impressive debut campaign with Norwegian Eliteserien club Tromsø IL, where he started 19 of his 21 appearances during the season.
His performances have drawn attention from scouts following a series of consistent displays in midfield for the Norwegian side.
Neither Tromsø IL nor 1. FC Köln has officially announced an agreement for the transfer.
