The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) on Monday launched a five-day sports administrators course aimed at strengthening governance, leadership and management within national sports associations.
The opening ceremony, held in Banjul, brought together stakeholders from the country’s sports administration sector.
Acting Director of the National Sports Council, Mahmoud Jawla, said effective sports administration is critical to the development and success of national federations and athletes, stressing the importance of strong governance and leadership.
Commissioner Lamin King Colley, First Vice President of the GNOC, reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to capacity building and continuous training for sports administrators.
The programme is being facilitated by Lamin Sanneh and Ousman Abou Wadda and includes sessions on sports management, governance, leadership and administration.
