The Gambia Police Force has advanced prosecution proceedings in an alleged sexual offence case involving a minor against Kemeseng Sanneh, popularly known as “Kexx,” with the matter now before the Children’s Court.
According to information from the police, the case has been under active investigation and prosecution and first came before the court on Thursday, May 7, 2026, where key legal motions were introduced.
During the hearing, prosecutors applied for a court order seeking DNA confirmation as part of evidence in the on-going case. The defence team, however, raised a preliminary objection to the application, triggering further legal arguments before the court.
Following submissions from both sides, the court adjourned the matter to June 4, 2026, to allow the prosecution to respond to the objection raised by the defence.
The Gambia Police Force said the matter remains under due legal process and is being handled in accordance with established procedures of the justice system.
In a brief statement, police reiterated their commitment to the rule of law and the protection of vulnerable persons, particularly children, stressing that such cases are treated with seriousness and confidentiality throughout the judicial process.
The case is expected to resume next month when the Children’s Court hears the prosecution’s response before determining the next step in the proceedings.
