Week 16 of the Gambia Women’s Second Division League produced six goals across two matches played on Monday, as teams continued their push for points in both the title race and relegation battle.
At the Brusubi Field, Jeshwang United secured a commanding 4-1 victory over City Girls in an entertaining encounter. Isatou Nassa, Mariama Jobe, Mansata Kuyateh and Mariama Kanteh were all on target for Jeshwang United, while Ramatoulie Gibba scored a consolation for City Girls.
In the other fixture at the Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum, Darboes recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Rakie. Jainaba Trawally’s first-half strike proved decisive in a tightly contested match.
At the top of the standings, Future Bi lead with 35 points, followed by Kintehs and The Gambia Armed Forces, both on 32 points, keeping the title race open.
At the lower end of the table, Mansa Wally remain on six points while Lower Niumi sit on 13 points, as the relegation battle intensifies with the season entering its decisive phase.
