Preparations for the ECOWAS African Wrestling Tournament (TOLAC) have gathered momentum as the National Organising Committee (NOC) intensifies coordination efforts ahead of the regional competition.
The NOC held a strategic meeting on Monday, bringing together key stakeholders to review progress and refine operational plans for the upcoming tournament. The session provided an opportunity to assess ongoing preparations, identify gaps, and strengthen coordination among working committees.
During the meeting, members reaffirmed the NOC’s responsibility in overseeing the overall planning process, while maintaining collaboration with the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Office to ensure compliance with regional standards.
Sub-committees presented updates covering technical readiness, logistics and protocol, finance and fundraising, as well as communication and publicity. Each outlined its work plan, with emphasis on efficiency, professionalism, and timely delivery of tasks.
The NOC also highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure athlete preparedness, adherence to competition regulations, and smooth arrangements for transportation, accommodation, and venue management. It further noted intensified resource mobilisation and partnership engagement, alongside plans to enhance visibility of the tournament through media and communication activities.
