Court proceedings involving members of Gambians Against Looted Assets (GALA) have been adjourned to June 18, the group confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday.
In the statement, GALA informed the public of the new hearing date while reaffirming its commitment to what it described as the ongoing fight for justice and accountability. The group stressed that the adjournment would not deter its efforts.
“This development does not weaken our cause; rather, it strengthens our determination,” the statement read.
GALA also used the opportunity to thank supporters, including members of the public and civil society organisations, who have continued to show up at court and lend their voices to the cause. According to the group, the continued show of solidarity has played a significant role in sustaining morale among its members.
The organisation further called on Gambians to remain engaged and united ahead of the next court date, urging supporters to maintain momentum in the lead-up to June 18 proceedings.
“The struggle for justice is a collective responsibility,” the statement added, encouraging citizens to stay vigilant.
