The Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) has commenced the refurbishment and expansion of the Democracy Pavilion in Boxbar to improve community sports infrastructure.
The project is being implemented with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports under its Community Sports Support initiative.
According to the committee, the project is valued at one million dalasis, with an initial disbursement of 500,000 dalasis already released to begin construction works.
The BSC expressed appreciation to the government for the intervention, noting that the upgrade will enhance sporting facilities in the area.
The committee has called on community members and stakeholders to cooperate with contractors and avoid disruptions during the construction period.
Spectators have also been advised to use alternative areas of the field while work is ongoing.
