Relegation Battle Intensifies in GFF Division One League

By: Madi Senghore

The battle to avoid relegation in the GFF Division One League has intensified as the season approaches its final stages, with teams at the bottom of the table separated by a narrow margin.

After 20 matches played, only three points separate 12th and 16th place, underscoring the competitiveness of the survival race.

Team Rhino FC sit just above the relegation zone on 22 points, while Steve Biko FC, Samger FC, TMT FC, and Greater Tomorrow FC are all level on 19 points.

Despite their slight advantage, Team Rhino FC remain under pressure due to inconsistent performances, leaving them vulnerable to dropping into the danger zone.

Steve Biko FC and Samger FC have shown periods of resilience this season but have been unable to consistently turn draws into victories, a shortcoming that could prove costly.

TMT FC continue to struggle in front of goal, with their lack of attacking efficiency placing them under increasing pressure in the relegation fight.

Greater Tomorrow FC face a difficult task to secure survival, with poor recent form and an inferior goal difference among the bottom sides further limiting their chances of safety.
