The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat over the weekend held its 48th annual Jalsa Salana of the Jamaat held at Nusrat Senior Secondary School in Bundung.

The three days annual convergence brought together top government officials, and dignitaries from across the globe who are followers of the Ahmadiyya Muslim faith.

Baba F. Trawally, the Amir (head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in the Gambia, addressing the gathering on Friday renewed commitment in promoting the teachings of the Holy Qur’an through education, moral training, and humanitarian service.

“We will continue to work with all stakeholders to promote peace, unity, and development across the country. We take this opportunity to send a message to every Gambian. Let us return to the Holy Qur’an.
Let us make it our guide in every aspect of life,” he remarked.

Amir Trawally emphasizes that Jalsa Salana is not merely a gathering but a spiritual platform designed to increase faith, strengthen moral values, and renew commitment to serving humanity.

He says this year’s Jalsa Salana is centred on a theme of profound significance in an age marked by moral confusion, social unrest political division, economic uncertainty, and spiritual emptiness and mankind is in urgent need of true guidance.

“That guidance has already been granted to us in the form of the Holy Qur’an, a perfect and living book that addresses every challenge faced by humanity in every era. In a world increasingly divided by race, politics, and ideology, the Holy Qur’an calls towards unity, tolerance, and righteousness,” he stressed.

According to him, despite material progress, humanity continues to grapple with injustice, inequality, conflict, and a loss of purpose.

He underscores that another pressing challenge is the lack of peace both within individuals and among nations including conflicts, wars, and divisions which continue to plague humanity.

Amir Trawally therefore challenged Ahmadiyaa members to let Jalsa be a turning point in their lives as the world was in need of this divine guidance and it was their duty to convey it with wisdom, patience, and compassion.

Speaking at the gathering, the Lawmaker of Badibou Central Sulayman Saho also reiterates that the annual Jalsa is a sign of commitment to faith inspired by shared values to strengthen the bonds of the people.

Hon. Saho described Gambia as a silent example of religious harmony, peace and unity adding that Muslims and people of other faiths have co-existed in mutual respect and understanding.

“As Muslims, we must continue to uphold these values by demonstrating compassion, tolerance and justice in our daily lives. Our faith calls upon us to be ambassadors of peace and promoters of national unity. Islam is a complete way of life; one that nurtures spiritual growth, moral integrity and social responsibility,” he added
