A man, identified as Pa Modou Jobe, on Wednesday appeared before the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.

Jobe was arraigned before Magistrate Kanjura B. Sambou and charged with a single count contrary to Section 276(1) of the Criminal Offences Act 2025 of The Gambia.

The prosecution was led by Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police Foday Bojang, alongside Sergeant 7232 E. Fofana, representing the Inspector General of Police. The accused was not represented by legal counsel.

According to the charge sheet, the accused was allegedly found on 17 March 2026 at Brikama Kebujeng, in the Kombo Central district of the West Coast Region, in possession of suspected stolen items, including iron rods, for which he reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation.
