Sidat Trawally marked his debut with the winning goal as BST Galaxy defeated Gambian Dutch Lions 1-0, while Falcons salvaged a dramatic 2-2 draw against 10-man Bombada as week 17 of the GFF First Division League, sponsored by Vista Bank with Baluwo as official partner, concluded on Sunday.
At the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama, Falcons fought back twice to secure a 2-2 draw in an entertaining four-goal encounter with Bombada.
Nuha Sambou gave the home side the lead in the 73rd minute with a clever finish. Ten minutes later, Bombada were reduced to 10 men when Demba Manneh received a straight red card for unsporting behaviour after Falcons were awarded a penalty.
Lamin Manneh stepped up and calmly converted the spot kick, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to restore parity for the visitors.
Despite being a man down, Bombada regained the lead in the 89th minute when Sambou rose above the defenders to head home from close range.
However, Falcons snatched a late equaliser deep into stoppage time when Abdoulie Camara inadvertently deflected a shot from Jusuf Ann Gomez into his own net with the last kick of the match.
Meanwhile, at the Ousman Saho Football Field, Sidat Trawally scored the decisive goal on his debut to give BST Galaxy a 1-0 victory over Gambian Dutch Lions.
The Dutch Lions defence failed to clear a free kick, allowing the ball to fall to Trawally, who struck from close range in the 41st minute to seal the win.
After 17 matches, Gambia Ports Authority remain top of the 16-team table with 29 points. Real de Banjul and Fortune FC follow closely with 28 points each.
Hart FC, Bombada FC and Brikama United are tied on 25 points apiece.
At the bottom of the table, Steve Biko FC, Samger FC and TMT are level on 16 points each.
