By Haddy Touray

Katchang Kambeem Kafo has donated two incubators to Farafenni General Hospital in the North Bank Region.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Assistant General Secretary and Coordinator of Katchang Kambeem Kafo, Mr. Ebrima Jaiteh, explained that the equipment was initially donated to the Katchang Community Clinic by citizens of Katchang residing in Spain for the benefit of the people of the North Bank Region.

According to him, it was later realized that the incubators could not be used at the Katchang Community Clinic due to technical limitations. As a result, the association decided that the equipment should instead be handed over to Farafenni General Hospital so that it could better serve the people of the region.

Mr. Jaiteh called on the management of Farafenni General Hospital to make good use of the donated materials for the benefit of patients.

Also speaking at the event, the Alkalo of Katchang, Mr. Mamadou Fatty, expressed gratitude to the citizens of Katchang living in Spain for their continuous support and contributions to the development of the North Bank Region. He also urged the hospital management to ensure the proper use of the equipment.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, the Public Relations Officer of Farafenni General Hospital, Mr. Sainey Dibba, said the equipment came at a time when the hospital was in urgent need of such materials. He thanked the people of Katchang for their generosity and encouraged others to emulate their example.

The Regional Health Director for the North Bank Region, Mr. Abdoulie Jarju, noted that the incubators would significantly benefit the people of the region and even patients from neighboring countries. He therefore called on the public to continue supporting the hospital, describing it as a facility that serves everyone.

For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Farafenni General Hospital, Mr. Kebba Manneh, said receiving such support from the people of Katchang did not come as a surprise to him. He praised them for their patriotism and commitment to national development, noting that they had previously built a clinic in Katchang which serves not only the village but also surrounding communities.

Mr. Manneh encouraged the people of Katchang to maintain their unity and called on other citizens of the North Bank Region to emulate their example.
