Gambia Football Federation Revises Suspensions for Greater Tomorrow Women’s FC

By: Kemo Kanyi

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has revised the suspensions of players and officials from Greater Tomorrow Women’s Football Club following an Appeals Committee review.

The original three-year suspension was imposed by the GFF Organising Committee after players and officials refused to participate in scheduled national league matches. An investigation was launched to determine the reasons behind the boycott, despite repeated directives from the club’s management.

The Appeals Committee found that several players and technical staff had failed to comply with internal decisions, including the dismissal of Head Coach Peter N. Mendy and Assistant Coach Abdou Jallow. The Committee described the boycott as “regrettable and unacceptable,” noting its disruptive impact on both the club and the competition.

Following the review, the Committee modified the sanctions as follows:

The GFF reiterated its commitment to developing women’s football in The Gambia and stressed the importance of discipline and adherence to football regulations.
