CRR North Sends Strong Message: UNITE Remains United, Organized and Growing

The UNITE Movement for Change marked a significant milestone in the Central River Region North (CRR North) on Saturday, as it successfully conducted its regional congress, electing all 25 executive positions unopposed. Observers described the event not merely as a congress but as a demonstration of momentum, unity, and confidence.

Delegates from all five constituencies and ten wards of the region came together to endorse the leadership, underscoring the strength and organization of UNITE’s grassroots structures.

The congress also highlighted the movement’s commitment to gender inclusion, with eight of the 25 elected officials being women, representing 32% of the leadership. This comes in a political context where women’s participation is often limited, showing that UNITE’s approach to empowerment goes beyond rhetoric into practice.

Doro Bah of Lower Saloum was elected Regional Chairman, supported by Modou Kaddy Kah of Niani and Mansali Fatty of Sami as Vice Chairmen. Women’s leadership is anchored by Regional Chairwoman Kaddijatou Jallow and Vice Regional Chairwoman Jarra Secka. The region’s campaign efforts will be led by Modou Lamin Bah as Regional Campaign Manager, assisted by Sarjo Camara.

“The Central River Region North did not just elect leaders today; it declared readiness,” said a UNITE official. “Our movement continues to grow peacefully, democratically, and inclusively.”

The successful congress signals a period of consolidation and growth for UNITE as it strengthens its presence across the region.
