Hunain Boarding School and Islamic Studies on Sunday inaugurated a newly constructed facility at Salagi, aimed at promoting Islamic education and improving the learning environment for young children.

Speaking at the ceremony, the school’s Mudir (Head), Ousman Camara, expressed appreciation to donors and supporters who contributed to the project’s realization.

“Your support has played a vital role in making this dream a reality. We ask Allah to reward you and accept this effort as purely for His sake,” he said.

Camara described the institution as more than just a physical structure, noting that it represents “a house of knowledge and a center of moral training for future generations.”

The new facility includes classrooms, administrative offices and sanitary amenities designed to enhance teaching and learning conditions. According to Camara, the school aims to nurture students academically and spiritually, preparing them to become responsible members of society and the Muslim community.

Alhagie Ceesay, speaking on behalf of the Alkalo (Town head) of Salagi, welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant development for the community.

“This school brings education closer to our children and serves as a symbol of devotion and service,” he said, urging residents to support and make effective use of the institution.

Imam Ebrima Saho highlighted the sacrifices and perseverance that contributed to the project’s completion, acknowledging local contributors as well as supporters from the United Kingdom.

Sheikh Ousman Manjang of the Zakat Charity Foundation also emphasized the importance of charity and collective community efforts in advancing Islamic education.

The inauguration of the Hunain Boarding School marks a step toward strengthening Islamic education while fostering community cooperation and providing future generations with a strong foundation in faith and knowledge.
