In the final fixtures of week nine of the GFF First Division League, BST Galaxy and Medina United secured vital victories, Greater Tomorrow held league leaders Gambia Ports Authority (GPA), and Samger, despite being a man down, forced a draw against reigning champions Real de Banjul.

BST Galaxy Win With 10 Men

At the Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum, BST Galaxy produced a spirited performance to beat Team Rhino 1-0. The match remained goalless in the first half before Galaxy were reduced to ten men when fullback Mustapha Faye was sent off for a dangerous tackle in the 59th minute.

Substitute Sheriff Bah emerged as the hero, delivering a man-of-the-match display by scoring the decisive goal in the 75th minute to secure the win.

Medina United End Winless Run

Medina United returned to winning ways with a commanding 2-0 victory over Fortune at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.

Adama Kanteh, facing his former club, opened the scoring in the 30th minute, and Omar Bojang doubled the lead in the 56th minute. The result ended Medina’s five-game winless run and ensured a clean sheet for the newcomers.

Samger Hold Champions to Draw

In Basori, Samger fought back from a numerical disadvantage to hold Real de Banjul to a 1-1 draw at the Live Your Dreams Academy Field.

Ismail Manneh put Samger ahead in the 55th minute, just three minutes after Anfaal Cham was shown a red card. Real de Banjul responded late through Sulayman Jammeh, who equalised five minutes from time.

GPA Held by Greater Tomorrow

League leaders Gambia Ports Authority were held to a goalless draw by Greater Tomorrow at the Bakau Mini Stadium. The result saw GPA maintain their top spot with 19 points, while Hawks sit second with 17 points.
