The Ministry of Public Service (MoPS), in partnership with 2M Corp, engaged stakeholders on the upcoming civil service and pensioner verification exercise.

A working session was held at Ocean Bay Hotel, Cape Point, Bakau, on Friday, 16 January 2026. During the session, 2M Corp, led by CEO Dr. Yaya Saidou Jallow, presented the objectives of the exercise and demonstrated the verification tools and procedures to be used for in-person verification.

Speaking at the closing of the session, Accountant General Ms. Agnes Macaulay said her office has collaborated with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in previous staff verification exercises.

“We are happy to share our experience in this important national exercise. This exercise will not follow the usual approach; the convergence here shows strong representation from various institutions,” Ms. Macaulay said.

She assured that the exercise would avoid previous challenges, such as unnecessary salary suspensions. “The exercise will require additional work from all staff involved, and it is important to get it right to prevent duplication in later phases,” she added.

Ms. Macaulay also urged participants to share the knowledge gained during the session with colleagues who were not in attendance, stressing that the exercise is a government-wide initiative, not limited to MoPS.

Mr. Alhagie Jallow, Director of Reforms leading the national HRMIS project at MoPS, said the session provided a platform to inform stakeholders about the exercise’s objectives, scope, methodology, and governance arrangements, and to secure their cooperation and ownership.

Dr. Jallow emphasized that the verification exercise is a key component of ongoing public service reforms aimed at strengthening human resource planning, payroll integrity, and evidence-based decision-making across government.

The session was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary at PMO, Mr. Lamin F. Jawara, and other senior government officials. Similar engagement sessions will be organized for the security sector.
