A 17-year-old girl who was alleged to have been raped in Brikama, on Friday, October 3rd, showed the places where she was raped to court officials, including the presiding magistrate.
Magistrate Anna O. Mendy ESQ, the presiding magistrate, with her clerks, the prosecuting officer Sgt 4422 M.J Sallah, Cpl 7232 E. Fofana, Dawda Tamba (the accused person), and the alleged victim (17-year-old girl), went for a locus visit to the places where the rape took place.
It would be recalled that during PW1 (victim)’s testimonial evidence, she mentioned two places where the accused person raped her, and the matter was adjourned for the team to visit the said places.
During the visit, PW1 (victim) identified an empty land around Brikama Kabafita School, where she was first rape by the accused person. Principal Magistrate Anna asked her, “What happened here where we are standing?”
PW1 (victim) responded: “This is the first place where Dawda Tamba (accused person) raped me. He brought me here to remove the trap from my phone, but also said to me, We will have sex first before removing it.”
“When I refused, he removed a knife, saying he was a police officer and if I did not do it, he would kill me here, then I also did it,” the victim explained.
She continued saying that after that, Dawda Tamba (the accused person) said to her, his people (police officers) were around that place roaming, and so they should go to his compound so he would remove the trap. “When I refused, again he removed the knife, then that was how I followed him,” the victim narrated.
She further identified an incomplete building at Brikama Nyambai Forest, where the accused person raped her for the second round. “He was having a knife and asked me to lie down on the floor, which I did, and he also lay down on top of me and had sex with me.”
She said later: “We went out, he told me to give him my phone to remove the trap, which I did, and he left with the phone.” “That is what happened that day.”
Then at that point, the court adjourned the matter to Monday 13th day of October 2025, at 12 pm.
