By: Isatou Sarr

Ebrima Bah appeared before Magistrate M. Dem of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 15th September 2025, where he faced two criminal charges, threatening violence and criminal trespass.

On the first count, Bah was charged with threatening violence, contrary to Section 77 of the Criminal Offences Act, 2025 Laws of The Gambia. According to the particulars of the offence, on or about the 27th day of August 2025, at Gunjur in the West Coast Region, Bah allegedly threatened to kill one Timothy Mendy with a knife, with intent to intimidate.

The second count accused Bah of criminal trespass, contrary to Section 262 of the same Act. It is alleged that on the same date and at the same location, he unlawfully entered the compound of one Anna Gomez with the intent to intimidate or annoy.

After the charges were read and explained to him in open court, the accused pleaded not guilty to both counts.

Prosecuting officer Cadet Inspector Amang Kanyi applied for an adjournment to allow the prosecution time to secure its witnesses. He did not object to the accused being granted bail.

The court subsequently granted the prosecution’s request and released the accused on bail. Bail was set at D30,000 with one Gambian surety.

The case has been adjourned to 1st October 2025 for the testimony of the first prosecution witness (PW1).
