The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) has announced the postponement of its second phase of the mobile biometric passport enrollment, which was originally scheduled to begin on September 1. The delay is due to a lack of technical support staff.

In a public statement, the GID expressed its regret for the postponement, informing residents in the provinces that the exercise has been put on hold until further notice.

“The postponement is necessitated by the unavailability of technical support staff from Africard Gambia Ltd., who are currently engaged on official duties. Their presence is essential to provide real-time technical assistance during the exercise,” the statement said.

The department advises all individuals who have already obtained or plan to apply for passport application forms to submit their documents to their respective Regional Immigration Offices while they await a new schedule.

The GID reassured the public of its ongoing commitment to providing accessible and efficient passport services for everyone.
