Members of the 1992/1994 Primary School Teachers’ Certificate (PTC) batch from Gambia College were, on Thursday, August 30, 2025, gathered at the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) conference hall for a reunion meeting. The event, held 31 years after their graduation, was a chance for former classmates to reconnect, share memories, and reflect on their shared history.
The reunion was a testament to the strong bond among the group, highlighting their desire to support one another and the families of their deceased colleagues.
Before the meeting began, a minute of silence was observed in honor of those who had passed away. Attendees also took turns introducing themselves and sharing their current professions.
Mrs. Aji Kah, the association’s Secretary General, and Mrs. Elizabeth Gomez, the Treasurer, spoke about the importance of the reunion. “We organized this event with the main purpose of seeing each other face to face, having fun, and reflecting on our two years at The Gambia College,” they stated.
Sanna Conteh, the batch’s chairman, emphasized the lasting connection among the members. “We walked different paths, pursued various careers, and built our own families. Yet, the bond we formed in those formative years remains unbroken,” he said.
He also urged his colleagues to find ways to support the families of their departed classmates.
Attendees expressed gratitude for the formation of the association and pledged their collective support to help it achieve its goals. The event concluded with a social gathering where food and drinks were served, allowing members to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
