Famara Gibba was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick to lead Bairo FC to a convincing victory over New Generation Football Academy in their opening match of the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) Nawettan.
Gibba opened the scoring for Bairo early in the first half, but New Generation FA responded with an equalizer before the break.
In the second half, Gibba took control, scoring two more goals to complete his hat-trick and put the game out of reach for the academy side. His outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award. The result gives Bairo FC a strong start to their league campaign, while New Generation will need to regroup for their next fixture.
In other Nawettan action: Manokang FC defeated newcomer Superstars FA 2-0. Sajar Jatta and Nuha Sambou scored for Manokang in the 55th and 72nd minutes, respective. Kutajumbul secured a 2-1 victory over Wellingara United.
