As the battle for a coveted spot in the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) Summer Nawettan intensifies, four more teams have booked their place in the third round after winning their respective second-round fixtures.
In Friday’s early fixture, Superstars FC delivered a commanding performance with a 3-0 victory over Thunder Light FC. Goals from Abdoulie Sanneh (39’), Omar Bajo (61’), and Ebrima Jahateh (71’) sealed the win and secured their progression.
Later that day, Gidda Kabilo edged Bayo’s FC 2-1 in a tense encounter. Babucarr Sanneh opened the scoring in the 5th minute before Modou Gibba doubled the lead, giving Gidda Kabilo a comfortable 2-0 advantage at halftime. Bayo’s FC reignited hope with a thunderous strike from Alieu Gassama, but they fell short of a comeback.
On Saturday afternoon, Jalokoto FC edged past Jamwelly FC 1-0 in a tightly contested affair. The defeat ended Jamwelly’s long-running quest for a breakthrough in the competition.
In the final game of the round, Elephant Tree FC outclassed Bafuloto United with a 3-1 win. They went into the halftime break with a commanding 3-0 lead, and although Bafuloto pulled one back in the second half, it was too little, too late.
