Bafuloto have advanced to the next round of the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) Nawettan Qualifiers after edging Blackstars 4-3 in a tense penalty shootout.
Bafuloto took the lead early in the match through Yankuba Sisawo, but Blackstars remained resilient and pushed for an equaliser. Their efforts were rewarded in stoppage time when Modou Lamin Sonko found the back of the net to force the match into penalties. Bafuloto held their nerve from the spot to clinch victory and move forward in the qualifiers.
In another fixture, Jambarr Sanneh secured a commanding 3-1 win over Dandehmayo. Goals from Omar Dibassey, Ebrima Danso, and Yahya Njie ensured a comfortable passage for Jambarr Sanneh, who dominated the match from the outset. Dandehmayo’s only response came late in the game through Balang Tamba, but it was too little, too late.
Meanwhile, Black Stars KM also progressed in the qualifiers after a 3-1 win on penalties against YMBA FA. The match had ended 1-1 in regulation time before Black Stars KM prevailed in the shootout to secure their spot in the next round.
The Brikama Sports Committee Nawettan Qualifiers continue to produce thrilling contests as teams battle for a place in the upcoming Nawettan proper.
