The Kanifing Magistrates’ Court Wednesday remanded one Musa Touray at the Mile II Central Prison pending the determination of his bail condition in the next hearing.
Touray appeared before presiding magistrate Thomos Touray charged with stealing which he denied.
According to prosecution officer Sargent Saffie Bah who represented the Inspector General of Police, the accused was charged with stealing contrary to section 231 laws of The Gambia thereby committing and offense. It could be recalled that on or about the 29th of June 2025, at Senegambia, in the Kanifing Municipality area, Musa Touray stole a Samsung phone mark A28 valued at a market price of D15,500, a property said to be of one Alagie Saidu Jallow. When the charge was read to him, the accused pleaded “not guilty” to the charge.
Then at that stage, the prosecution officer asked for an adjournment to enable her call witness to testify.
The presiding magistrate asked the accused if he got someone to bail him, but Musa could not meet the condition for bail and so had to be sent to remand till next sitting of the case. The case was then adjourned to Thursday July 17th for continuation.
