Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) Football Club is eyeing a return to the GFF Division One next season. The team currently tops the Men’s Division Two table, leading by four points ahead of league debutants Medina United.
GPA suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Colley Stars in Tuesday’s fixture at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum. Colley Stars is owned by Gambian national team captain Omar Colley.
Meanwhile, Samger FC boosted their hopes of returning to Men’s Division One with a comfortable 2-0 win over struggling Latrikunda United FC. Samger was relegated from the top flight last season following a disappointing campaign.
In another Division Two encounter played in Jarra Soma, Suwo Kono FC and Baalor Sarr FC played out a goalless draw.
Latrikunda United FC, Waa Banjul, and Essau United FC currently occupy the bottom spots on the league table.
