GFF Appoints Goodwill Ambassador for US and CONCACAF Region

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has announced the appointment of Mr. Bakary Ceesay as its Goodwill Ambassador to the United States and the Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) region.

Mr. Ceesay, a Gambian residing in Tampa Bay, United States, was appointed on Tuesday evening.

According to the GFF, the appointment is in recognition of Mr. Ceesay’s significant contributions to the development of football in The Gambia and beyond, as well as his academic and professional achievements in the sport.

“Mr. Ceesay, among his roles as Goodwill Ambassador for the GFF, will serve as a link between institutions, organisations, communities, and individuals to establish partnerships and cooperation for the development of football in The Gambia,” the GFF stated.

He will also assist the GFF and its Technical Department in scouting and identifying footballers of Gambian descent living within his area of jurisdiction who are eligible and have the potential to represent the various national teams.

In addition, Mr. Ceesay is tasked with initiating or facilitating the establishment of contacts with individuals or entities for the organisation of international friendly matches or training camps in the United States, the CONCACAF region, The Gambia, or any part of the world.
