Adama Jallow and Nuha Faye, two Gambian athletes in France and Spain, respectively, have set new records in Men’s 400M and triple jump competition.
According to the Gambia Athletics Platform (GAP), the youngstar delivered an outstanding performance at the Journées Régionales Individuelles/Regionaux Masters meet, clocking a new personal best of 49.99 seconds in the men’s 400m.
“Adama’s sub-50 finish is a significant milestone in his sprinting journey, showcasing his growing potential and hard work in training. Representing The Gambia on the international stage, his performance is a source of pride and inspiration for young athletes back home,” it reported
In a similar development, Nuha Faye breaks 46-year-old national record in a competition in Spain.
The Gambia Athletics Platform reports that in Tenerife U23 & Senior Championship in Spain, Nuha Faye soared into the record books by setting a new Gambian national record in the men’s triple jump, leaping an incredible 15.16 meters!
“This outstanding performance has officially broken a record that stood unchallenged for 46 years. The previous national best was 15.05 meters, set by Jim Malleh Wadda back in July 1978 in Banjul, The Gambia,” the Athletics platform reports.
Nuha Faye’s achievement not only marks a new chapter in Gambian athletics history but also highlights the rising standard and potential of our field athletes on the international stage, according to the Gambia Athletics Platform.
It congratulates both athletes and urges them to continue the hard work.
