Ahmadiyaa Muslim Al-Jama’at humanitarian group has distributed items worth of D160,000.00 including oil, rice, clothes, and onions to 8 victims and 44 family members in Bundung.
Speaking during the distribution ceremony, Baba Trawally, Amir of Ahmadiyaa said: “today is a sad day for everybody noting that if we could recall last month January 2022 these victims in Bundung area were affected with a serious fire disaster and one of them lost two of his children.”
“The accident is very tragic and sad we the Ahmadiyaa Jama’at decided to include them in this assistance to the needy families, in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Quran and Religion of Islam. Our Prophet peace be upon Him served humanity,” he stated.
According to him, Ahmadiyaa Muslim Jama’at is here to propagate pure teachings of Islam and all the problems that are happening in the world is about power and power is money.
“Money doesn’t matter what matters is the life of that single victim is worth than the item so we call upon others to support as we know there are needier and poor people in the society,” he said.
He explained that whatever amount you have in that bank people will share it in the future, government cannot do all but who are the government it is the people, adding however we are thankful to the media because they are disseminating information to the people and the Kanifing Municipal Council.
Ndang Jeng, Regional Coordinator for National Disaster Agency expressed appreciation to Ahmadiyaa Muslim Al-Jama’at for this laudable support of giving to the poor and needy as well as the fire affected victims.
NDMA and Ahmadiyaa Muslim Jama’at have been partnering for quite a long time this is not the first time they have been rendering service to victims. Moreover, looking at the items the amount spent on these items is huge and government cannot do it alone if the Jammat decide to help it will reduce the burden on NDMA and the Government, he explained.
Karamo Ceesay, Councilor of Tallinding on behalf of the Mayor of Kanifing expressed sympathy to the family who had lost their loved ones during the fire incident. He disclosed that it is KMC that supposed to assist these families but due to certain constrain it could not be done.
The Jama’at has been rendering humanitarian support to the society in the country in terms of Education and Health. He added
Ismaila Trawally and Dawda Nyado victims prayed for other victims and thank the Jama’at of Ahmadiyaa for the gesture.
